Nike was looking to introduce their new hiking product line and knew the streets of New York were just the place to do it, but what experience would do the trick? While more and more consumer buying is happening digitally, there is still the desire to get your hands (or feet) on a product before buying. Nike is a firm believer in the world of digital experiences to connect with their customers, but also know just how powerful it can be to physically lace them up.
Working with Leg Work out of Boulder they decided to mix the best of both worlds. They would create a “Pop-Up” location with an interactive digital experience to introduce the new hiking line-up. This interactive experience would virtually place the user into custom rainy day New York street situations.
Customers flocked and were delighted with not only the pop-up location but also the unique interactive experience that added to fun of lacing up a new pair of shoes.
